Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
WHO DO YOU SERVICE WITHIN THE BRIDAL PARTY?
The Bride, Bridesmaids, Maid of Honor, Mother of Bride, Mother of Groom, Flower Girls, Friends & Family and any other interested guests.
CAN YOU SERVICE A LARGE GROUP OR BRIDAL PARTY?
Yes, we are a team of (5) equally skilled and talented artists. We consider these arrangements based on discussions with the bride about her wedding day timeline.
WHAT MAKEUP PRODUCTS ARE USED?
We use what is called “Private Label” cosmetics.Basically this means that as a small cosmetics company we buy from the same manufacturers as the commercial stores. However, the commercial stores brands are able to send their “fills” or colors overseas for custom packaging. As a smaller company, we simply choose from the existing packaging offered direct from the Private Label manufacturers. Some of our other favorites include pro-artist lines:
- Urban Decay
- Nars
- Anastasia
- Laura Mercier
- etc.
All products are hypo allergenic (fragrance free) and non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores). We are also happy to use personal favorites during the application process.
DO YOU OFFER AIRBRUSH MAKEUP?
Yes. Airbrush foundation is water or silicone based product that is specially formulated to be “sprayed” or “painted” on to the face through a small compressor or motor. The air gun or “brush” looks a bit like a fountain pen that deposits small micro “dots” of makeup on to the face to give the skin a natural semi-matte finish as well as provide a flawless look to the skin. It is great for all skin types and is especially wonderful for oily skin. Airbrush foundation potentially lasts much longer. Alternatively, traditional foundation is usually in the form of a liquid, a powder or cream. It is applied using a makeup brush or sponge. Both types of foundation provide successful results depending on your personal preference and can be experimented with at the trial.
DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH INDIVIDUALS OF COLOR?
Yes, we are fortunate to be able to work with a beautiful palette of women from all different ethnicities and cultures.
DO YOU OFFER TRIALS?
Yes. Bridal trials are free of charge. There is a fee for trials for those other than the bride. We allow for an hour for a bridal trial but it often only takes 45 minutes. Your wedding day makeup application will not take as long because we have already created your look during the trial session. This is where the bride will receive a consultation and full makeup application. During the trial session all details are reviewed, factoring in every element such as your dress, hair, flowers, color of bridesmaids dresses, etc. All products, colors, application techniques and special instructions will be recorded on file. There is no obligation to commit for makeup services at the time of the trial. This is your test-run to preview your makeup look and collaborate with the artist. This also allows for feedback so we can make any necessary “tweaks” on the wedding day.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO A TRIAL SESSION?
Feel free to bring images of the makeup you are considering for your wedding day. This is one of the best ways to communicate the look you hope to achieve. In addition, we will provide our suggestions such as complimentary colors, textures, etc. best suited for your features and skin type. This is truly a collaborative process matching your personality with our artistic skills.
HOW LONG DOES A WEDDING DAY MAKEUP APPLICATION TAKE?
It takes about 30 minutes for each makeup application. We also build in additional 30 minute “buffers” on the front and back ends to allow for some “wiggle room”.
DO YOU CREATE A MAKEUP SCHEDULE/TIMELINE?
Yes, once your services are officially booked a timeline will be created to have all ready in time for pictures.
WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMEONE WANTS HIS/HER MAKE-UP DONE AS A LAST MINUTE ADD-ON?
Time permitting, we will ALWAYS do our best to accommodate this request as long as it does not interfere with the original members of bridal party that have already booked in advance. Any “add-on” applications not accounted for in the contract must be paid in full on date of service.
HOW DO I BOOK MY WEDDING MAKEUP SERVICES?
A non-refundable “save the date” fee of $25 and signed contract is required to secure your wedding date and book services. All bookings come on a first come, first serve basis. We do not hold the date without the “save the date fee and/or contract.
DO YOU HAVE A MINIMUM RESERVATION REQUIREMENT?
No, we pride ourselves on accommodating everyone regardless of wedding party size
WHAT TRAVEL FEES DO YOU CHARGE?
Travel fees vary depending on distance and travel time to your preferred location. For round trip travel of 3 hours or more an overnight stay for the artist is considered depending on the wedding day start time.
ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO START MAKEUP EARLY IN THE MORNING TO BE READY FOR PICTURES?
Yes, we have started as early as 4:00 am☺.
DO YOU OFFER A POST PHOTO/ PRE-CEREMONY TOUCH UP SERVICE?
Yes, there is a $100 per hour fee to remain once we are finished with the last person. *This fee can be offset by non-bridal party guests who would like to have their makeup done while the artist waits for the bride to return. Non-bridal party guests pay the same as the bridal party. Please feel free to call, email or text with any additional questions we may have missed.
